About Me

Philosophy

The best way to round these labels together into one is to explain that I value experiences in my adult life above all others.

As a lifelong learner, my passion also lies in other’s continued knowledge. In creating efficiencies in my professional programs that I manage or work in, I find joy in helping other’s help themselves through hands-on learning. No matter my role or industry, I consistently find myself developing first-time training guides, program efficiencies and creative materials to assist colleagues and clients. My instructional design philosophy stems from my own personal and professional experiences with the strong desire to create engaging, aesthetically pleasing projects that integrate best adult learning practices.

Creator. Designer. Teacher. Traveler. Photographer. Life Dabbler.

Background

I am a Colorado native, residing in a suburb of Denver, close to both the city and the mountains.  My passion for teaching and designing began when I stumbled upon the opportunity to teach English abroad in South Korea in 2009.  After more than two years of teaching in both the Korean countryside and the city of Seoul, I fell into several unofficial training positions in the U.S. over a several year period.  This includes training a 15-student team of undergraduate work study students, in addition to training colleagues in a Program Manager position in previous roles.

I continue to work in higher education where I have been gaining expertise in assisting faculty/staff and students for over eight years. Within higher education, I'm currently an Instructional Designer for the University of Colorado Anschutz's Office of Medical Education. This role combines my passions for course development, accessibility, program management, education, and assisting faculty/staff and students.

Furthermore, my personal passions include travel and photography, two hobbies that go hand-in-hand, as well as serve me well in my instructional design path. I have lived abroad for three years, traveled to six continents, 100+ cities, and 50+ countries thus far.

Whenever I am fortunate enough to travel, I am grateful for the creative inspiration of experiencing different cultures, which I infuse into all of my work.
